Georgia's history is awesome! The first people in Georgia arrived almost 13,000 years ago. Some of the Native American tribes that lived here are  Cherokee and Choctaw. In 1733 Georgia became the 13th colony. Sadly, Georgia left the Union at the start of the Civil War and only came back once the war was over. Georgia became a state 1788. In 1829 gold is found in Georgia and the Georgia gold rush began. In 1921 the boll weevil destroyed most of Georgia's crops
